Chang’s work begins where intention has loosened its grip, and other forms of life, community, and memory move in. His photographs attend to overlooked spaces and communities that persist outside dominant narratives of progress and development. He understands them as part of a liminalscape that are displaced from the centre, yet carrying their own timescale and claim to attention.
